Larceny

Larceny is the unlawful taking and carrying away of personal property with the intent to deprive the rightful owner of said property permanently, or for an unreasonable period of time. The varying types of larceny include Petit and Grand Larceny. Petit Larceny is generally a misdemeanor involving the taking of something valued at less than $250.00 (sum varies in states). Grand Larceny is a felony and the value of what was taken is greater than $250.00 (again, sum varies in states).
